Welcome to the Magic Square puzzle section! Prepare to test your logic and number skills with these captivating arrangements. A Magic Square is more than just a grid of numbers; it’s an ancient mathematical wonder where patterns and sums create perfect harmony.

What is a Magic Square?

A Magic Square is a square grid filled with distinct positive integers (usually starting from 1) where the sum of the numbers in every row, every column, and both main diagonals is exactly the same. This special total is called the Magic Constant or Magic Sum.

How to Solve Magic Squares

The goal of our puzzles is to find the missing numbers in the grid. Here are the steps and concepts to guide your solving:

Determine the Magic Constant: First, check if the Magic Constant (M) is given, or if you can calculate it using the formula above based on the size (n) of the square. For example, a 3×3 square uses the numbers 1-9, and its Magic Constant is 15.

Find the Sum: Look for any completed rows, columns, or diagonals. Their sum must equal the Magic Constant (M). This confirms the target sum for all other lines.

Use Subtraction: If a row, column, or diagonal is missing only one number, subtract the sum of the known numbers in that line from the Magic Constant (M) to find the value of the missing cell.

Trial and Error / Logic: For squares with more missing numbers, use logical deduction. Remember that each number can only be used once!
